The year 2005 will be my 7th year of providing organized tours as Moto-Charlie and will mark more than 20 years of Alpine motorcycling experience. <b>THE TOURS</b> <a href=http://moto-charlie.com/WSFF/applications/Services/subLayout03.asp?vCompID=9183&vSeqID=1&ServiceID=2175><font color=blue>A Customized Tour</font></a> time slot has been set aside for the various groups that inquire about customized tour options. Different times can also be considered that do not conflict with the Swiss and Italian dates and that are not in August. Early June seems to work and there are several groups already interested in these dates. <ul><li> June 4 – June 14, 2005</ul> <a href=http://www.moto-charlie.com/WSFF/applications/Services/subLayout03.asp?vCompID=9183&vSeqID=1&ServiceID=1344><font color=blue>With A Swiss Flavor</font></a> focuses on the western Alps of Switzerland with several days spent also in the Tyrol of Italy and the French Alps near Val de I’lseran. The dates are: <ul><li> June 25 – July 5, 2005</ul> <a href=http://www.moto-charlie.com/WSFF/applications/Services/subLayout03.asp?vCompID=9183&vSeqID=1&ServiceID=1346><font color=blue>With An Italian Flavor</font></a> focuses on the Dolomites of northeastern Italy plus the mountains north and west of Lago di Garda and some of the Tyrolean part of northern Italy as well. The tour will also give you a taste of Switzerland on our way to and from the Italian regions. The dates are: <ul><li>September 10 – 20, 2005</ul> <b>BASE OF OPERATIONS</b> <a href=http://www.moto-charlie.com/WSFF/Applications/FAQ/subLayout01.asp?vCompID=9183&vFAQid=803><font color=blue>Steffisburg</font></a> Switzerland. It is right next to Thun just south of Bern in the heart of the Alps. The location is in the mountains, next to stunning alpine lakes and accessible to everywhere in the Alps. <b>THE MOTORCYCLES</b> You can pick from a <a href=http://www.moto-charlie.com/WSFF/Applications/FAQ/subLayout01.asp?vCompID=9183&vFAQid=806><font color=blue>full line</font></a> of BMW’s, Honda’s and Aprilia’s. They are all current year model bikes, fully ensured and dealer maintained. For motorcycles that do not come standard with side cases hard and/or soft luggage is available for rent for a small additional charge per day. <b>THE TOUR COST</b> <ul><li>Single rider in a single room - $3,370 <li>Single rider sharing a double room - $3,290 <li>Passenger sharing a double room - $1,790 <li>Couple riding together sharing a double room - $5,080</ul> <b>WHAT THE TOUR COST COVERS</b> On my tours <a href=http://www.moto-charlie.com/WSFF/Applications/FAQ/subLayout01.asp?vCompID=9183&vFAQid=696><font color=blue>you pay</font></a> for all your own expenses. Even on an all-inclusive tour you have to settle your drink and bar tab at the end of each hotel stay. So, why not pay for the hotel itself at the same time. Most motorcyclists like to visit the motorcycle shop (the one in Steffisburg is huge with lots of accessories and a cafe) so you may as well pay for the bike while you are there. This way you know exactly what the trip costs and you have some control over what you spend. <b><i>My tour cost includes everything that you will spend for the actual tour (excluding gifts, phone calls, side trips, etc). The cost shown by most other tour companies usually does not include the cost of all your dinners, gas, incidentals or the single room supplement. Mine does.</i></b> I share any motorcycle or hotel discounts I can negotiate with you so your cost for the motorcycle, hotels, food and gas is the same as my cost. The use of estimates below for dinner and incidentals is based on real world, year after year experience. <b>The <a href=http://www.moto-charlie.com/WSFF/applications/Services/subLayout03.asp?vCompID=9183&vSeqID=1&ServiceID=1347><font color=blue>tour cost</font></a> includes:</b> <ul><li>The cost of <b>the motorcycle</b>. By way of example this cost would get you a BMW 1150R or an Honda VFR 800 for the ten days (There is a large selection of BMW’s, Honda’s and Aprilia’s to choose from. I can price out your particular bike and tour cost for you). <li> <b>Transportation</b> from either Bern Airport or the main train station in Bern is included with the cost of the rental motorcycle. <li>The cost of the specific <b>hotels we stay at with breakfast</b> included <li>An estimate of $35 a night per person for the food portion of <b>dinner</b>. My experience has been overwhelming that tour members want to select from the menu rather than be locked into pre-arranged menus like they frequently are on all-inclusive tours. Bottled water, beer, wine etc. is extra whether it be an all-inclusive tour or my tour. <li>An estimate of $45 per day for <b>lunch, snacks, and gas</b> which should be more than enough. <li>The <a href=http://www.moto-charlie.com/WSFF/Applications/FAQ/subLayout01.asp?vCompID=9183&vFAQid=812><font color=blue>Moto-Charlie fee</font></a> which is the only amount paid directly to me. It is $700 ($70 per day) for the rider and $500 ($50 per day) for the passenger.
